Use the iTunes Store much? Recently i’ve been getting in to it a lot and i’ve always noticed whilst purchasing music or tv shows that there’s an option for a coupon. I recently found some coupon codes for the iTunes Store here. There’s coupons to get money off the new season of Lost, the new album by The Killers and even a coupon to watch 500 Free music videos. I found all of this at couponchief.com where there are hundreds of online shopping coupons for hundreds of different merchants and there’s even a “how-to” on the site of where you insert the coupon and how to use it on some of the top merchants like target, best buy, amazon and dell. It’s a really great service that’s really worth checking out to get money off from 1000+ merchants listed on the site.

So this blog has been lacking a lot of content lately and it's looked the same since it started....i'm thinking about giving it a complete overhaul, a completely new look and trying to make it look a bit nicer, cleaner and what not. Less links, more content...purely content rather than buttons and ads jumping out all over the place. If i find the right style i'll make sure and put it on here...until then...i'm gonna keep thinking of ideas. any suggestions leave a comment.

Long ago....back in the land of Windows ME, just before I switched to I was happily browsing the web for various cheat codes for GTA3 on the PS2...i came across a few sites that seemed a little dodgy and potentially unsafe, but the naive child inside me ignored it and continued to browse. Pop-up after Pop-up i clicked ‘ok’ and other such buttons like ‘install now’ ...’buy now’ ....i honestly didn’t know what i was doing but i thought it was getting rid of the pop ups and so continued to keep clicking. After my browsing session i returned to the desktop to find it filled with different programs...except they weren’t programs. I’d successfully installed so much spyware that it crippled my hard drive...and as a result, had to format and reinstall windows. Of course i had no spyware protection at the time so i had little way to resolve or prevent the problem. With Spy Sweeper occasions like this can be prevented easily. With it’s ease of use and low system specifications you can keep full control of any computer. You can download your favourite movies, photos and not have to worry about the spyware infecting your computer...there’s even regular updates. With it’s various awards you’d be insane not to check this out and prevent spyware from crippling your computer too. If only i had this back then.

I've been setting up a website quite recently, which i'm not QUITE ready to start promoting but i'd like to talk about it a little bit to give the general concept. You as a user, sign up and you get your own blog on the network. You then blog about your favourite tech news and it gets displayed on the main blog of the site. It from here gets rated and the highest rated posts in the day get displayed at the top.
I'm just having some issues getting all the most recent posts pulled from each blog on the network and i'm working on the look and some other functionality right now. I like the idea of it....i hope some of you check it out. leave me a comment if you like the idea or some feedback on how it could be improved would be nice :) .

Accident or collision?

i wonder this often.......is a car crash considered an accident or a collision? If it was an accident, that means it wasn't meant to happen but if it was a collision it could mean many more things. For example, someone who's drink driving knows that they could very well have a crash...so is it really an accident?

The Time Off...

So half of my exams are over...yes...that quickly. I mentioned them earlier this week and i'm sorry i haven't been able to make an update on how they went. Basically...i'm not too sure...the first psychology module i did i felt like it went great but i ended up failing miserably so i really can't tell right now. Let's not think about it...we'll revisit it in august when it seems important to me then.
I've been moving stuff in since tuesday (in to my new house that is) and hence the huge lack of updates, i'll have some pics of the house pretty soon, it's still a bit of a tip but it won't be long before it's sorted out.
The sun is shining outside...so i'm gonna go for a walk. have a good day!

PPP Direct

This is a great idea in my opinion, for example, I only have 2 votes out of the 25 posts I’ve taken to make up my overall tack rating which leaves it at 4 out of 5. Now this restricts me from taking particular posts and some advertisers may feel that my style of writing suits the kind of post their looking for but as I don’t qualify for their opportunity I’m unable to take it. This means the advertisers could be losing out in many ways.
PPP direct offers much more than it’s competitors and allows for the advertisers to not lose out like this at all as they can contact me individually and give me an exclusive post. f you are using ReviewMe or any competitors services you will know that they charge between 50-100% markup on your post, whilst PPP charges only 35% on theirs, this allows you to keep more of the money you’ve earned. PPP direct cuts out the middlemen and allows for you to make such huge savings on your posts. Why not get paid to blog and check it out.

The First Exam...

First exam in a matter of hours and what do i do? sit up to play the xbox for a bit and then come on here. Why? because i simply do not care about the exams i'm doing tomorrow...and why's that? because i only need an E in this subject...and i'm pretty confident i can do that. Now you may be wondering 'but don't you want to do even better than that?' my answer is no, not really. I only want to do well enough to get back in to sixth form. I'll give an update of how it went later on or maybe tomorrow...i'll maybe end up doing way better than i expected...or i'll maybe end up failing miserably. who knows.

So i've kind of slacked on the revision...maybe it's my lack of interest in psychology right now. To be honest i'm really not in to it as much as i used to be. I WANT to say that it's my teachers fault...and that probably is partly to blame. The week my first teacher left for maternity leave my grade in the class was an A. When the substitute arrived he immediately dropped me to a D and i feel like from then on in i haven't cared about the subject at all. At first i thought it might be a motivational thing, but now i'm not too sure...i mean, if the teacher wanted me to be motivated he would have given me a C, which is considered the average grade but most people want to be just above average. Having a D says 'you know less than average' and that doesn't motivate me at all...it just makes me feel below everyone else. A Failure, a mess, a wreck, a nobody. I feel like giving up on revision for the subject...i'm quite sure i'll fail.

I recently just discovered Tumblr, it's pretty cool, it's like a new kind of blogging where it focuses less on long posts with a lot of stuff in it and has much smaller things that you can share, for example, you can share just a picture, a quote, a piece of text, a video. It's quite interesting, i might set one up with a new domain or something and post some of the wee interesting things i come across.

You may have noticed I’ve been in to the whole blog marketing thing for a while now and I specifically favour PayPerPost. I’ve really enjoyed using their service over the last 5 months I’ve been a member, I’ve become a frequent reader of the PayPerPost blog, I’ve participated in the forums quite a bit and most of all I’ve generated quite a bit of income from the site, almost $200 in fact. Initially my plan was to save my money but as I discovered I’m able to make more and more every day with the plethora of opportunities on PayPerPost’s website, I can put a bit aside and use some to buy a few Xbox games every now and then. PayPerPost is a really great site and has been very loyal to me over the 5 months, I can’t wait to see what improvements they have for the service over time and I hope it gets even better.

I watched United 93 today, i hadn't seen it since maybe a year ago when it came out in the cinema. That film has really moved me a lot. It's such a tense film especially knowing that it's based on true events (according to the government...and without mentioning conspiracy theories). I could almost feel my body going in to 'fight or flight'. As the plane went down my heart pounded...and i was again reminded of how fucked up our world is.

So now i'm off school for my study leave...i'm not exactly, off...i have a lot of studying to do if i want to get back to school next year and a lot of work for my exams but i have a feeling the studying is gonna be a no go this year and i'll spend most of my time on the xbox or playing guitar or on my latest project which i won't discuss with the few readers just yet as it's still under production and what not.

I'll hopefully be able to update this thing more now that i'm out of school, HOPEFULLY! ...it's been lacking content lately.

Bid4Prizes is a site where you bid on particular products but there's a twist, the lowest unique bid wins rather than the traditional higher bid. Personally i'd love to win this 20" LCD Monitor to hook up my mac too for some video editing and with the lowest bid winning why not have a crack at it? There really are some great products on the site to win and with a concept like this it’s definitely worth trying out. Where I come from there’s nothing like a good bargain and it looks like there’s plenty on here to be found. Definitely an interesting service.

So i just went to see the movie........and i'm back now.......the cinema is usually a pretty crazy place when a group of us are there, we're like a bunch of 7 year olds out to celebrate our mates 8th birthday after having a can of red bull and pretending we're the coolest lads on the block...let's just say, we're immature. Whilst we mucked about quite a bit (we don't condone throwing sweets) ...the movie was enjoyable but i'm really not sure what to make of it, it seemed like it was gonna be a real action-thriller kind of thing .....and then suddenly peter parker is emo and doing the funky chicken (no joke) ...to be honest i think those parts spoiled the movie a bit, if he had of just been much meaner in a more serious way it would have made the film better. I can see that they were trying to be funny...but it just went down the wrong way with me and seemed a bit cheesy and out of place with the other movies. It was still enjoyable...a little dodgy but be the judge yourself. Go out and watch it ;-)

I hate todays music scene.....it really is a scene, filled with pretentious spoilt brats who criticise you for not liking the latest CD by so and so. They claim to be Fall Out Boy's biggest fan and act as if they were around before Kurt Cobain pulled the trigger (that's if he did do it) ...looking down on you for listening to what ever you want and not what everyone else listens to...yet they look down on other scenes and haven't yet come to the sad realisation that they themselves are part of a scene. I notice this a lot, and probably sound like i'm from some kind of scene myself...but i really do hate this amongst the general 'scene' where you're not cool unless you listen to band X, Y or Z. Why can't we listen to what we want?

I just spent another 12 hours of straight gaming on the xbox....that's almost my record.......my record was 14 hours, which is a bit sick to be honest. It's very easy to get lost while playing a game...it's a bit crazy really, one minute it's 1 o'clock in the afternoon, the next it's 1 in the morning and you've just finished your fourth bar of chocolate for the day and you come to a sad realisation you've been binge eating and doing nothing all day but happily gaming. It's a shame really because it was a nice day today........hopefully i'll venture outside tomorrow and maybe get some more posts on here.

Just been playing some guitar yet again, it's been quite a while and enjoyable to see how capable my voice is of staying in tune as i play. With my study leave officially on the 11th of May i can't wait to be off...it's even earlier than last year.

...This has been bugging me the last few days. It's happened myself once in the past and i recently saw it happen at school. Why is it everyone feels the need to criticise you AFTER You've had your hair cut, or AFTER you've decided to ditch the same pair of jeans you've been wearing for about 3 years, or the same t-shirt. A friend of mine recently had his hair cut....all his so called friends started the usual compliments and he said 'yeah it's a big change from the way it was yesterday' ............and this is where my point comes in. The so called friends replied with 'yeah it was pretty shit like!' ........see this stumps me, if they were a true friend wouldn't they tell the guy 'sort yourself out' rather than leaving it until after it's sorted and use it as if it's some sort of excuse to slag him now....i don't get it. Everyone's a critic.

Finally...finally it's all completed, finally i don't have to worry about it. 11th of may is when i get my study leave so it'll be nice to be off from then until september...providing i get back to school that is. ...so when i get my coursework back, i think i'll sell it online or something, it'd be nice to scrape up a few pounds with it.

Blogging has just got better…not only is the Blogosphere growing it’s receiving more and more quality content. Now you can vote on blogs with the blogger awards at BloggersChoiceAwards.com. There’s loads of different categories to choose from and a plethora of blogs to browse, you’d almost think you were at the Oscars…for blogs though.
Anyone can nominate a blog and anyone can vote so make sure you submit your favourite blog or if it’s already there make sure you get a vote in and make it count.
This definitely seems like a good idea and definitely a new way to promote the blogosphere and get peoples content out there and noticed much more.
It’s pretty beneficial for all types of blogs…even the terrible ones. There’s a category for ‘Worst Blog Of All Time’ and many more such as ‘Best Food Blog’ or ‘Best Geek Blog’ and many, many more.
The site itself has a very Digg like feel which is nice because it allows easy access to vote on your favourite blog the quickest and easiest way.

The Perils of Procrastination....

Last day of Easter holidays and i'm struggling with my coursework. Procrastination sucks...i've had 2 weeks to get this done but i've wasted my time putting it off and off until i have only a day to do about 100 pages worth of work. It'll take a lot of work tomorrow but i can hopefully get it done...i debated tonight whether or not i should do the remaining work half assed or well done. ....If i do it half-assed, i'll at least get it handed in and be able to have it marked and re-drafted and fixed up. If it's well done it'll only take me too long and i'll only get faulted for handing it in late and then won't get a chance to re-draft it. So putting that in the perspective...i have a busy day of laziness and half-assedness. Cool.

A Web Directory with a twist....

Big Web Links is a great new concept for finding sites, in their online directory sorted by bid amount rather than popularity or PR. This is a really great concept and really allows webmasters to have much more control over their site on the directory listing.

The more money put in to the site, the higher up the ranking it is and this is done when users bid for position on a site. The top 10 listings are shown on the homepage and the top 20 are shown in a top links page giving your site plenty of opportunity to be displayed. This really is a great new concept and definitely worth checking out.

A New Kind of Rehab...

Drug addiction and alcoholism is a terrible thing and unfortunately it’s a terrible habit to kick. With a new drug rehab program these kinds of habits can be kicked without the use of medication or drugs to resolve the problem. So the giants did win on saturday, it's all over until next season unfortunately. it'll be nice to have next season roll around and everyone be back on form. Can't wait to hear whos staying and who's going and what not. Hopefully we can get the title back next season.
I finally got around to doing some coursework yesterday which is good because i was REALLY far behind, it's nice to finally get something done and out of the way and i plan to keep it up all week so i can be finished for the deadline.
I've been playing a lot of xbox lately too...some might call it an unhealthy addiction but i dunno, it's quite fun playing my friends and some of the random guys on there, it's good fun especially after hours of coursework, it's nice to be able to sit down and have your friends yarn away to you while you trying and knock them off the track in project gotham racing.

Play-Off Finals Weekend...

So it's the playoff finals weekend...and as i type, the Giants are in their semi-final game. I really hope they make it through to the final against Cardiff. Personally i think we've been handed the team no one wanted to play...the Play-Offs being held in Nottingham...we're playing Nottingham, so they have an advantage of home ice, good team morale etc. Hopefully we can pull through...i'm really excited about this because even though we didn't retain the league title, it'd be nice to bring home SOMETHING from this season.

More in Giants news...i have a few ideas in the pot for the new website, i've been thinking about compiling a list of features that would be nice on their website and then forwarding them to the new GM.

I'll give an update tomorrow on the game.

An unexpected 11am rise...i need to sort out my sleeping pattern. The last few days have consisted of up around 12ish or 1ish, xbox, outside for a while, lots of red bull, xbox.............more xbox........sleep. but this goes on until about 2AM. I wonder how people can survive with such little sleep sometimes...i always feel spaced out and not really there at all when i haven't got enough sleep. Better sort it out this week before the ICT binge...

Easter Holidays...

So now it's the Easter Holidays and it's nice to be off...finally some time to myself. Although it's only the second day, i need to get stuck in to the work soon even though i'm really trying to take it easy to kick this cold/flu bug and get back to full health again. Hopefully i'll be ok by next week.

First day back at school is my deadline for a lot of coursework, so hopefully i can get it all done and out of the way by then. I really can't afford to mess this up but at the same time i just want to relax...especially with the nice weather these days....ahh i dispair.

A Giant Update...

So now the season is over...we didn't win...but we're in the playoffs and the big weekend is this coming weekend. I would have loved to have been there...it would have been great to see the last few games but luckily i made it to the last home game (and of course Todd Killer Kelmans last home game) at the big O. It's been a great season...really enjoyable, unfortunately we didn't win but it's been great getting more and more in to ice hockey and i can honestly say i cannot wait until september for the new season.

I plan to keep you all (who ever is reading) updated over the summer with returning players etc and who's new to the team, who's staying and who's going and what the new shirt looks like. I'll maybe even start up a blog dedicated to reviews of all the home and away games. It'll be good, i'll give an update on that later in the week so stay logged on.

Sci-Edge is a brand new social networking website, a place for science geeks technology and gadget geeks (much like myself) and science fiction nerds to hang out and converse about all that’s new in the world of Science and Tech.
I had a quick look about the site and it seems pretty cool, with the members already building up and some pretty cool features on there it really seems like it’s gonna be the next big thing. well...welcome to the 100th post of 'life' ...or w/e you wish to call it. To be honest, i wish it felt much more important than it does but i'm pretty sure no one actually reads this blog anymore, in fact i don't think many people did read it that much to be honest but i'll try and not let this be so negative.

I've spent the last few days sick...at home...and i've come to learn that 2 days stuck in doors is enough to drive me insane. So i took a walk to the beach to try and clear my lungs and what not of all gunge sickness. It worked...but my throat is killing me. On the plus, i did get some pretty nice photos.....

A few days ago in school i looked around the room and as we were doing some computer work, i noticed a few people with their iPods...listening away to dear knows what. At this particular time the teacher began to talk about something, tbh i wasn't too bothered to listen, So i thought to myself...hmmm, i could just listen to my iPod and then i thought a) it'd look rude to just whip it out and plug in while the teacher was talking and b) the music would only distract me from my work. I normally stay focussed when the whole room is silent...so i thought to myself...wouldn't it be cool to create a sound...a sound of silence...a way in which you could plug in your iPod and actually listen to silence. Now i know this maybe sounds a bit strange, you'd be thinking 'uhh...can't you just not listen to anything??' ...well no, because you end up hearing background noise. I'd like to create a sound that is purely silence...it drowns out all surrounding background noise and so what you would hear, would be silence...like you were in a totally silent room, hearing no background noise from someone talking...and it wouldn't be music that would distract you.

So that flu i had a while back...it's returned...i woke up this morning and felt like absolute crap, floating all over the place, head dizzy, pounding, gungey...it's worse than before. What a bad week this has been...to top it off incubus had to postpone their tour because Mike Einziger has to have surgery on his hand, he has carpal tunnel syndrome which sucks...so i don't get to see incubus until september, it was only a week away too.
I can barely type right now i feel so ill and haven't been online since thursday. Clocks go forward tonight, so i better get some rest and hope this flu clears up by tomorrow. I really can't afford time off of school either, i have some dealines to meet this week and i REALLY have to meet them or i'm screwed.
On the plus, the time away has been inspirational and i have a whole load of new post ideas.

A new web directory and a whole new concept has just landed on the virtual door step. This really is a great concept and a great new way to list websites within a directory. Big Web Links Directory lists websites by bid amount rather than popularity, PR or alphabetically. Big Web Links organises posts by contribution amount or bid amount. This allows webmasters to have much more control over their websites position on the directory.
Personally I feel this really is a great concept and a great new way to get sites out in to the open world (wide web) …by allowing it’s users to contribute to the site. It allows a more accurate ranking as it shows which sites do well amongst it’s users and allows the webmaster to put even more money in to the site to make it more enjoyable for the user. This really is a great new service and a really innovative concept and I really think this will do well in the future.

i probably will post here a bit more in a while, i'm just too stressed from school and i'm having touble finding the time to just sit down and post something.
What is it with teachers thinking they're much better than their pupils? i've lost all interest in learning psychology due to a particular teacher, i really can't be bothered anymore...i feel like dropping out of school but i have nothing else planned. This year has been a farce, an absolute farce.
I'm gonna go do some ICT, a subject i actually enjoy.

I know i have...and it's not hard to be intimidated at school...but today i realised something, intimidation is silly...it's easy to be intimidated but it's so stupid...we're all humans, which means we're all of the same kind...so why do we get initimidated by others? size? size of what? an ego? an ego which accompanies the size of someones muscles? ...why should someone be intimidated by someone who's bigger than them? sure you might look like a coward, but inside it's the person who intimidates someone else who is the real coward...they have no sympathy for the weak.

I noticed something today, whilst listening to a song by a band called 'Million Dead' ...the lyric repeats "i always have a song inside my head" and it struck a chord with me...i really do always have a song inside my head, no matter where i am, what i'm doing, how i'm feeling i ALWAYS have a song inside my head! Is this normal? is it an obsession with music?
I think being a hopeful musician with earphones in my ears 24/7 (almost...and they aren't too loud either) that i've become accustomed to having music in my head...and that's probably why there's something in my head all the time for me to relate to. Currently Switchfoot are the band i'm listening to the most...i seem to be relating with their music more than anything which is a good thing.

I used to be really in to skating (skateboarding that is).....until my back started messing up (yeah yeah, i'm acting like an old granda) ...if during my time skating i'd found a site like this it would of been the mecca of the skate world. This place really is amazing, the amount of skate decks, all different brands and what's great is that you can search by particular size so you can narrow the decks right down to the size you prefer to skate. Personally i always preferred 7.5 ...small but not too small that you can't get good pop out of it without getting penciled. Really is an amazing site with so much to offer for skaters of all kinds...definitely worth checking this place out.

Ever hear someone say 'i hate narrow minded people' ? ...i know i've heard it maybe one too many times and it sparked a thought...wouldn't saying 'i hate narrow minded people' make you a narrow minded person yourself? as you aren't open to just accepting them as they are and seeing past what you may consider as their biggest flaw (narrow mindedness)...
... Our world is a very judgemental place, especially when we pick out flaws in people and base our relationships upon those flaws. 'i don't like her, she's too judgemental' ... would that just be attentive towards a personality? or isn't that being judgemental too?
These are the kinds of thoughts i try to keep at the front of my mind every day...as hard as i try, it can sometimes be impossible...for a human so imperfect to judge imperfection as though they are superior to it on an every day basis only allows for our imperfection to shine even more and dampen our maturity to accept any and all as they are.

So back to work for another day tomorrow...i'm hoping to sell my playstation tomorrow as it gets NO use now, the xbox gets all the use which unfortunately i have strayed from playing at the minute because of the size of the TV hooked up to it! 15" ?? it's difficult to see anything on that!! especially since it's LCD as well...but sure it's better than nothing and i shouldn't complain really when there are people who don't even have a TV, period.
I've been listening to a lot of switchfoot really which is suppppper cool! i LOVE this album 'Oh! Gravity' it's worth checking out, i'll put a link to it in my sidebar to amazon soon so feel free to check it out there. It's a shame i never got in to them sooner, they really are inspirational. Good band indeedy.

What is it about feminism? you know....'oh i'm a girl, i can fit in with the lads, i deserve equal rights etc' ....sure a lot of girls might think this, but if you were walking along a footpath towards a girl along the same general line of direction they'd expect you to move (the feminists would) ....and of course, you move out of their way...now if this was a guy, you'd move out of each others way and there would be no fuss, but why would a feminist who insists on equality etc. still expect a man to move if they want to be so equal? wouldn't they just move from your way as you move from theirs??
Why is it that the same feminists talk down to men and talk about them amongst peers as if they are stupid, slow, dumb creatures who are good for nothing on this earth?? I've witnessed this on several accounts and to be honest i don't understand the need to belittle men in such a manner, wouldn't a true feminist just accept the way men are and get along without complaint? but then inevitably someone will always find something wrong in everything...like right now i have found something i feel is 'wrong' with feminism...it kind of makes me think feminism doesn't even exist and it's merely used as an excuse for women to belittle men.

Giants back on fire…

The Giants were happy to be back at the odyssey for the first home game in a LONG time...after signing a new netminder Philippe DeRouville we've been on top form...he only signed the other day and tonight was only his second game. .............Spectacular game, we hammered the Edinburgh Capitals 7 - 0...probably our best win of the whole season! Reminded me of the kinda games we were seeing last season, only thing missing was Theo Fleury. The game was a little rough too, i was almost expecting a fight from Shawn Skiehar after someone knocked his helmet off, he followed them for a bit but gave up when they didn't want to fight.

The man of the match call was a tricky decision, after Ed Courtenay stepping down from the bench to join his team on the ice for the first time since last season (on home ice) and scoring 2 goals and an assist....it made it tough...also with our new netminder who's only been with the team for 3 days now who doesn't know any of the team tactics, plays, barely knows the lines and hasn't even trained with them....and he made a shutout on his second game with the team and first time in the odyssey! ...Personally i think he should have got MOM.

The team played really well, with Minard (current netminder) out with an injury the team had a bit more confidence knowing their goalie wasn't in pain. I'm still in awe :D

I share a lot of files...like an awful lot and i'm always looking for the quickest way to do it. After finding the Box.net Widget i think i'll be using it a lot more. This widget can streams podcasts, music, photos, videos, and loads of other file formats and what's great about it is there are NO bandwidth limits with up to 1GB of storage of files...all for free! Check out the one below...i think i'll definitely introduce one of these to the blog and have some downloads every so often.
It seems like a very efficient way to share files and the upload speeds are pretty quick and it only takes 3 simple steps to create your own widget. Work Experience...

All next week i'm supposed to be on work experience...what a farce that has been! First of all i was supposed to go to city beat (local radio station) and then i was supposed to go to ANOTHER local radio station...and then iw as gonna go to some recording studio...each time they all stopped responding except the recording studio who said they weren't ready to take people on as yet because it's a pretty new project. So now for a week i'm doing work for dad...which will be interesting, i worked for him before briefly...and i mean briefly but occasionally i go and do some stuff (wow my spelling is bad) ...it'll be interesting, i'm hoping to spend most of the week doing coursework as i'm REALLY behind now and i'm not procrastinating...it just takes forever, but i'll get it done. ....School is becoming such a hassle haha.

I've always been in to computers since no age at all and recently since i've been toying around with some HTML and Javascript i've been thinking about computer programming, i've been wanting to get in to it for a little while now and i've even been considering some University courses in computer science. WIth all that i could try my best to get in to it now and it'll benefit me in the future...it seems pretty cool, definitely something i'd check out if i was a programmer. Forget Feminism...Psychology it is...............

I know i'd talked about feminism, but i know that post will come eventually but until then, here's some thoughts i had today.

A woman asked me today generally about school, she was a nice woman and as usual i was willing to answer any questions she may have had. She asked me what subjects i do...and i always answer in the same order "ICT, Media and Psychology" i guess my interest in each subject has ranked them that way even though that 'ranking' should have changed, i've said them so much in this order that i've got used to it. On that last note...psychology, this is the one that seems to take people back a bit when i tell them...they almost look twice and seem a little confused and i can tell they're about to ask 'what?!' ...i've had various responses to it, some ask what it's like, some almost think that someone who looks as silly as me can't honestly be studying such a 'complex' subject (it's not as complex as people let on for it to be) and then there's the people who look scared. Right at the very moment when i say psychology, i look them right in the eye and i see fear.....i guess it only makes sense, I'M looking them right in the eye and it's amazing how strange a combination that is...the word 'Psychology' with eye contact...it amused me at first, but after seeing it happen more than once i began to realise that maybe people have a reason for this.

I've always made a lot of eye contact, a lot more than i see people usually making with me...i don't know if my eyes are scary or if people just don't like making eye contact these days at all. Back to my intial point...i think people have this fear of being judged or 'analysed' as it would be better put...and when i naturally make eye contact with people and say i study psychology, they have this fear that i'm analysing them and they start looking away and making shifty movements etc.......................and you know what, they're right haha i have been analysing them :D and so they have every reason to look away.....but what i don't understand is the reason to look away, why are they so scared of being analysed? do most people hide what they have? do i just make more eye contact than i should? ....... i'm gonna give this some more thought.

School Tomorrow...........

So back to school tomorrow....and to be honest i'm not really looking forward to it, if i could i'd spend all my time off doing my work from home...i've been off pretty much 2 weeks now bar 1 day so it'll be good to get back in to the swing of things. Deadlines are approaching fast so i really gotta start working...and it's almost the time of year again where I'll be getting study leave (well ok a few months) but it'll be good to get off and have a lot more time to myself.
I got a good post coming tomorrow about my views on feminism which i hope will be pretty good...it amuses me when a woman seems to have this idea in her head that this is a 'mans' world and that if she's a woman, she means nothing and therefore goes on this rampage to stand up for womens rights etc especially when they use it to talk down to men as if they're dumb...almost as if they're trying to claim the world and deem it a womans world...but my point is that the world should be equal. I'll give a more detailed account of it tomorrow...............

I've always liked podcasts, it's still a pretty new concept and lots of 'sub-concepts' if you will are stemming from it. I even hosted a podcast of my own for a while but it was always pretty expensive to host, i used it primarily to get some 'music' out in to the open that i'd been writing. Now with this site you can host your own Free Podcast. I had a quick look around the site and it's definitely a service i think i'll get in to, especially since you can actually get paid to put your podcast out there...

Another Day Off...

So i ended up with another day off, but not all was lost, i tried to do some work and have sort of succeeded...i got a lot of well needed ICT done, only another 9 pages to go and i should be sorted. My other coursework i'm doing is media...i MIGHT put a picture or two up here of it, but it's not finished yet so i might leave it for a while before i do. I need some dimensions and ideas of how to make a CD booklet...an actual booklet to go inside the CD so if anyone has any info (i'm looking at you Ally) i'd be grateful if you could send it my way (just dimensions etc.)

Big News at PayPerPost...

Looks like PayPerPost the online advertising site I’ve recently become very fond of is announcing some big news in the next few weeks and us “Posties” have been asked to guess what it is. In my opinion, it really could be anything, they could be adding more features to the site like new browsing features for opportunities or they could be announcing a partnership with a big company, maybe it’s something related to RockStartup…or maybe they’ve been bought over by a big company already. They could be announcing that they’ll be advertising during a big sporting event or something….it really could be anything. Personally, I heard a rumour they’re announcing that they’re going to announce that they’re out of beta and that the site is complete (of course they’re adding a few more features first) and then they’re getting in to television advertisement before they merge with blogger.com and it becomes part of the site. I can’t say if the rumour is true…but I heard it from a pretty reliable source so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, I dunno about everyone else, but tbh I’m pretty excited about this, PayPerPost really is a great site and it’ll be great to see it out of beta with some new features.

Belfast Giants...

So i have to admit...i'm a pretty big Belfast Giants fan!! For ages i haven't been in to any sport what so ever...i used to skate(board) an awful lot but i've pretty much ruined my back in doing so and i became a bit too lazy to keep doing it...so for a few years i haven't been in to much sport at all. Last season (05/06) Lauren took me to one of the games, the game that was the debut for Theo Fleury for the Belfast Giants (i'll ramble about him in another post soon ;-) but give him a look on wikipedia if you want) and ever since i've been hooked. I've been following the league this season more than ever and i have to say...it's a great sport. Unlike football, what attracts me to this, is the lack of sectarianism...i HATE hearing about sectarianism within football!!

From now on on the blog for the last month of this season i plan to give regular updates on the team and how we're doing in the league, who we're playing etc. and i hope to do the same next season as well.

We're 3rd in the league right now after the team have unexpectidly lost interest all together recently and we've hit an all time low for our team, we won so well last year and now this year we've messed up so badly that it's unlikely we'll win the league. Coventry are first in the league, Sheffield second. Belfast are playing right as we speak so lets hope we can win tonight!! and that sheffield lose putting us back up to 2nd place...with some recent changes to the line up i know we can do it...the pressure is increased, but we can still try our best to defend the title.

Unsigned.com... as the name would suggest, it's filled with loads of unsigned bands who are likely to break on to the music scene pretty soon. There's loads on there! Anything from Grunge Artists to Blues Artists. I think the site's great for finding new music to listen to and it's definitely cool to check out some up and coming artists from all over the world before they make it big! Some pretty cool guitar work on there too...great if you're in to learning new stuff. So yesterday i thought my flu was clearing up...i guess not, i woke up today feeling pretty bad, i hurt all over and i have a cough so i dunno if i'll be back at school tomorrow. I'm getting pretty far behind with work and stuff there and as typical as this sounds, it isn't really all my fault. Sure i've been off, but i haven't missed one thing because my teachers have all disappeared on a rugby trip for the week...so whilst i have deadlines to meet this week, i have no one to help me reach them on time.

I've been trying to post here a lot more often, sometimes i don't really know what to talk about...for example this! i feel like i'm going no where but i'm making an effort, i might end up posting some stuff that i find on digg on here if i think it's interesting enough, but i'll see. I think i'll go play some guitar.............

RockStartup...

Ok so you may have noticed the affiliation with PayPerPost lately, i've been hearing quite a bit about this 'RockStartup' so decided to check it out for myself. Basically, it's the reality tv behind setting up a Web 2.0 company. It follows Ted Murphy on his journey in to setting up PayPerPost.
I think the show gives a great insight in to the initial set up and further promotion of the company and it's also interesting to see how the company has progressed since the intial set up. I"ve just recently finished watching the latest episode and have featured it below as it is my favourite to date. It features a lot of talks and negotiations with other companies and people discussing the company. I think it's interesting to see how the company works behind the scenes.

I always find whilst watching the show that it can be a little confusing as to what's going on, things can move a little too fast with little explanation sometimes and I’m left wondering what just happened and end up almost assuming what just happened. It’d also be nice to see slightly longer episodes and maybe if the episodes were longer, it’d give more time to fill in the blanks and give a little more explanation.

I ended up missing razorlight last night which was kinda gay...but at the same time not at all a bad thing. if i did go i'd probably end up sicker....and now i have a lot less money to pay off to people which isn't so bad. I hate being sick, i end up sleeping in til about 3 or 4 and sitting up all night which isn't very good for my overall recovery...and day time tv sucks! There's also little food down here and i'm getting very little work done and i'm already about 2 months behind with ICT coursework....not a good time to be sick but i'll have to make do with it at the minute.
Hopefully i'll still be able to get some pictures up from last nights concert from my friends who went, apparently the seats were decent but at least i'm able to pay for my incubus tickets without struggle now! Hopefully will have an update later!

I thought i'd dodged it...i thought i'd actually survived an illness that seems to be plaguing everyone....but no....influenza has attacked and instead of going to see Razorlight tomorrow night...it looks like i might be stuck in bed instead (although if i do go i will put up some pictures and what not) ...i'd do anything for some scran right now but just feel too weak to go downstairs and get some, i have a feeling i'm gonna end up off school with my life revolving around my xbox rather than coursework like i should be doing in school yet one teacher is no use and the one who helps me out most has gone on a rugby tour............no substitutes either.......eugh....i hate the flu, my mum has had it for a couple of weeks now and i thought i was class dodging it for so long, guess that never lasted, maybe a good nights sleep will help me and i'll be able to go to the concert....will keep ya posted, i'm away for some scran.

A Week Off.....Sort Of

School ended last thursday for some time off...and i'll be honest, i haven't really done much other than played my Xbox and hence the lack of posts on here. It has been quite enjoyable though...living by the sea is quite nice actually, it has it's benefits...such as this.

A mere 5 minutes from my house lies this...quite a nice sight to behold even at this time of year when it can be quite cold, although there has been an evident rise in temperature here in the last few weeks, it's been mild enough for me to leave my over sized coat behind although as a result i think i'm getting a cold now, i'm sneezing too much. I need to fix my sleeping pattern too...once again, it has become messed up after numerous late nights involving the xbox (live) and some redbull....and afterwards the general browsing of the net occurs until i finally feel fit to sleep at about 4am.

Valentines Day....

Another Year has rolled right around...and we've reached Valentines Day yet again, a day where couples (usually) show off their love for one another with roses, kisses, chocolate and hugs. I must have seen hundreds of roses today...unfortunately i didn't actually get any at all. I've been going out with Lauren 2 years today...which is kind of strange...but what made Valentines day any different to any other day? To be honest i don't really know at all...but everyone else seems to enjoy it, with chocolates, happiness and all these roses...if you're like me who happens to be late on getting anything at all...why not check out this place and send some roses to someone special. I remember quite a while ago i received my first rose, what an embarrassing day that was! It came during class at school...everyone stared at me the whole time in a state of wonder of who it could be from (it was from Lauren but i didn't tell them that) ...it kind of challenged the stereotype of guys buying girls roses all the time too, which was cool i guess. To be honest i'd still be embarrassed if i received a rose from someone, but hey it's all in the spirit of Valentines Day so why not send some roses to that special person. Personally...i disagree with this, what we think and do can change in different situations and environments and so our intentions at the time change also, therefore, the intentions predicted during the time of the scan can immediately change after the scan...especially if you're like me, and you like to keep some thoughts to yourself....Our thoughts are our own and it almost feels like some sort of privacy invasion to let a scan predict behaviour.....sure behaviour can already be predicted, through close psychological observation...which kind of annoys me, i don't like people knowing what i'm thinking. I've come across two types of people in my 16 years of living...those who can follow my train of thought easily and understand what i'm saying/thinking perfectly...and those who simply can't.

The scan seems a bit inaccurate...and definitely has some ethical issues and i'd say a pretty low ecological valid result. This scan is supposed to predict my behaviour based on what? 50 participants from America who are 20 - 25 years of age? Surely they can't generalise that age group of those participants and assume that what their intentions are, are what our intentions are....it wouldn't be the first time it's happened either. Pre-cognition? No thanks, i'll keep my thoughts to myself. My mind is the only place i can think (obviously) , do, say, dream, create and basically do anything i feel like and not be judged, criticised, laughed at, violated or invaded. [/defensive behaviour]

An interesting read none the less....but it's at this point i feel science and technology have come too far to actually comprehend what a person is thinking...and not just a rough guess, but a scan that does so for them. The government have found a way to monitor us pretty much all the time, but this takes the biscuit.

So HDTV's are becoming the IN thing to have these days, it's all about having a great set up in your living room that delivers the greatest user experience. Recently we've been looking in to buying an HDTV ourselves but due to the way the room is, we need extra long cables in order to get the system set up pretty well. So i was browsing the web and i stumbled upon this site, i would also like to point out that i am receiving compensation from the site for mentioning their site. hdmi cables ...basically it's a great site with extra long HDMI cables which can be quite difficult to find at times, but this site has it all. We ordered some cables from it and now we were able to get the best quality from the TV even with a 10 metre long cable! Since no age at all (Probably about 4) i've been drinking coffee! Now i know you're thinking 'what kind of parent gives their kid coffee at that age?!?' ...well, mine do :P When mum was pregnant with me, she apparently drank nothing but coffee and i was born like a heroin baby, except i was addicted to coffee. For a while i tried ditching the habbit and drinking tea like most people do, generally, i hate tea and infact about 15 minutes ago i stated 'i think i'll start drinking green tea' which is apparently pretty healthy for you. It's been a while since i had a cup of coffee...but with just one cup, i feel normal again. I feel less tense, more relaxed and generally don't care about too much.....Aye, i think i'll just stick with the coffee, even if it does stunt my growth (i think that's a myth) i'd far rather be happy and less stressed than tall and angry.

Hearing...

After my last post, about sight, i felt a little intrigued about hearing...i think i have some sort of super hearing, i know this can be linked to me being young and having good hearing, but i was playing my xbox today, put in a different game and it told me 'this game is not support in PAL 50hz, please change the display settings to PAL 60hz' or something to that effect...i did so, strangely i could hear the change in high pitched frequency, i dunno if his is normal, but i could hear the change, when it's at 60hz, the sound is higher pitched, when it's at 50hz the sound is slightly lower...no one else was able to hear these frequencies when i asked them to and no one seems to believe me that i can hear them simply because they can't hear them.

A similar incident happened at my aunts house once, she had a mouse...and so had one of these devices that sends out a high pitched frequency that only the mice are supposed to hear in order to drive it away.............low and behold i could hear the thing!! i was staying at hers for a week at the time, EVERY night i could hear it, high pitched ringing in my ears...all night! Is my hearing special or is it just a result of being so young? i still haven't found anyone else who can hear the frequncies.

What do blind people see?

Ok, so before you say 'nothing' ...i think this should be considered.

It can be easy to assume that a blind person does not actually visualise anything in the visual modality...some may also say 'they see darkness' ...but do they? darkness is the opposite of light, and if you're blind, light cannot be seen, so to distinguish the opposite of light, you need to have first experienced light. Maybe a blind person DOES see purely darkness, but doesn't actually realise it because they can't compare it with light. Maybe they say green, blue, orange, red, yellow or all the colours of the rainbow...but because they've never experienced light, they cannot compare it.

I imagine it would depend on why they are blind in the first place. I don't know much about the reasons behind blindness but I imagine it can either be caused by damage in the eyes or damage in the brain. Maybe if it's the eyes that are the problem, it'd be the same as being in a dark room...or if it's the brain...well...who knows, it's easy to say blind people see 'nothing' but it's hard to imagine 'nothing'. One can assume that a lot of this all has to do with light receptors...but let's forget those for a second and think about our brains.

The brain of a blind person must be very interesting, their brain will be more active than ours i think, being able to visualise anything they want, of course, they'll have nothing to really base this (their visualisations) on without sight to begin with...but i imagine the rest of their senses will be hightened quite a bit and from touching, smelling and specifically hearing things they may be able to visualise things us sighted people may not be able to visualise at all. Visualisation may be more vivid and original as they don't have the reality of sight to distract them. Which brings me to my next point...what if a blind person were to start experimenting with psychoactive drugs like marijuana and acid? would they visualise anything at all? What about their dreams? what would they consist of? Would they hear more and thus visualise newer things, would they be able to draw it? convey it with sound? music? even so...without psychoactive drugs, this is already an amazing gift to have. This also reminds me of this.

I saw a pretty interesting post a while ago about how colour blind people see things differently to none colour blinded people (see link) that helped to put things in to pretty good perspective and has been very thought provoking yet again...What if the way i see red, is the way someone else see's blue...it would be impossible to tell, because from the ripe old age, someone would point to the colour and say 'this is blue' ...they would visualise and interpret that as blue and when they see that colour they would know it's blue, but what if we all seen colours differently...what if the way i see blue is the way you see red, we'd NEVER be able to tell, but due to the fact that we would have been taught all the colours at a young age, or any age, it wouldn't cause any complication because we wouldn't be able to visualise the colours in a different way...it's impossible to prove and disprove.

A lot of this is all very complex for me to imagine myself, it's difficult to imagine not having any sense of sight or visualisation within the brain, sure, if i were to be blinded now i'd be able to visualise, but it's baffling to imagine not having visualisation or anything to base our mental visualisations on other than using other senses, sound is what interests me the most...experiencing the world phonetically, connecting sound with vision and colour. This being the case, blindness could be classed as a gift in it's own right, as there would be ability to experience the world in a completely different way than most of us do, without reality's main distraction; television.

I've found few links on the internet that touch on this topic and i simply wanted to ask some questions about it myself, this post is merely speculation and definitely had no intentions to offend anyone.

So...a while ago i saw a van advertising a recording studio...i only just got the chance to check it out recently, and after heading all the way to Antrim to our current studio...this one is 5 minutes up the road!! Can't believe it! the place seems quite nice though and they make it sound pretty appealing so i may have to check it out sometime this week and get us booked in for a while.

The All Seeing Eye...

What is the all seeing eye? What does it represent? As i quietly sat in Starbucks today listening to the soothing jazz they continuously play in there, i looked to my left only to find a picture of the all seeing eye on the wall, i then thought to myself 'wait, that thing is on the dollar too? what is it even supposed to mean?' ...my mind began wondering...i've seen this thing in many mundance places, it's almost subliminal right?

Maybe it's a sign that the government is monitoring everything we buy...everything we drink, everything we do...it's like big brother, the government is big brother. This eye is also on the cover of my favourite band (incubus) new album, Light Grenades. What is this eye all about? Maybe the government knows incubus is my favourite band and decided just to slap an all seeing eye on there to let me know they're watching while i'm listening.

This then brings me to my next point...what if life was like the Truman Show...maybe life revolves around you and you only. Think about it...you're always told 'Life doesn't always revolve around you' but maybe that could just be a cover up and an act for the show...or maybe it's reverse psychology to make me question whether or not life is just about me and then confuse me. The all seeing eye would be the only reference to being watched i would get in life...my friends are actors, my parents are actors...i think therefore i am right? ...prove it, said a recent article i read. How do we know our brains aren't just imagining our consciousness and such? of course...i don't really believe that...but maybe it was just another story tossed out their by the government to confuse us all, or maybe me, just me. This is becoming a bit egocentric............the world does not revolve around me...........or maybe being told that has brainwashed me in to thinking that and there are cameras hidden everywhere in this world, maybe there are cameras hidden everywhere in the world, but not just for me...for everyone.

Does the all seeing eye represent God? we were told that we should give back what we owe...if i make sense with that, we should give back to the government the money which belongs to the government. Hence maybe the eye being on there....It could be a symbol of war in todays society...violence with violence...but an eye for an eye would leave the world blind. Welcome to 1984.

After many a search and email to blogger with no suggestions back......i finally have titles on my blog, and it feels much more complete....now i am happy!! THANK YOU!!! :D

So...finally....finally.................................finally i don't know what to say about much, other than music...which isn't a change, deeming the first 4 words of this sentence a waste of yours and my time. Music has been formulating in my head recently...a lot of it, ideas have been formulating....but i want to keep them in there until me and ben are back in the studio again this friday. We have some ideas and i have way more than i did last week...i wanna put them all together and really surprise ben with the idea i have come up with for one of our heavier songs. We still have a medium paced song we want to put on there, which i assume we'll pick from our collection of 14 existing songs...and then an acoustic track which ben wants me to do on my own, which i was quite surprised by...i'm normally shy about singing infront of people i know, it takes a lot of courage unless i trust them, so i let rip and now an acoustic track shall be put on the EP/demo/effort/thing.

I'm back to how i was last year...knowing exams and stuff are approaching and a lot of stuff on my mind, i'm stressed, but i feel like when i'm stressed i'm most creative, unfortunately i find it too easy to pick up a pen and guitar when i'm upset, i need to learn to parlay talent when i'm happy rather than sad, but i'll learn.

The Blue Room

Today is the day we venture in to The Blue Room...in to the realms of our minds to dig deep melodicaly and thoughtfully...to produce what will hopefully be one of my greatest achievements yet.

I'm talking about how we're going in to the studio for the first day today to write/record ... we have several ideas which we plan to fuse to see what the outcome may be, hopefully it will be good, hope to get some samples of the music up on here ASAP.

Will post back tomorrow night with information about how it went.

MacWorld 2007..........

So i guess the iPhone was Apple's biggest attraction at this years MacWorld, but what about the Apple TV? it got a mere 15 minutes of coverage compared to what the iPhone got. Personally i think the Apple TV is a GOOD idea...it's not a great idea, but i think with it being limited on current features that this then allows them to add more features in the second model....although i feel that Steve was too busy working on the iPhone to really make much of a fuss over the Apple TV.

There was a new airport express also quietly introduced featuring the new 802.11n which is apparently faster than b and g, will possibly be an investment to consider as i'm feeling quite limited regarding the whole wireless situation at the minute (having a lot of signal problems)

Name Change! Apple have dropped the 'Computer' from the name and they are now just 'Apple Inc.' ...meaning the ever famous 'Apple Corps.' changed their name to 'Apple Records' ...hopefully saving any future conflicts between the 2 arising...and hopefully we'll see the beatles on itunes soon. The new name is quite fitting i guess, Apple are becoming much bigger in many more aspects rather than just computers.........we'll see what 2007 brings for Apple. I'm expecting another event announcing more products soon.

Xbox 360

I have to say, i have never found a better games console...EVER. it really is a great product...Microsoft are really on to something special with this, forget the PS3...Xbox 360 has much more to offer and it's available now. The new Nintendo Wii's current rival in the console world...or is it? Nintendo are also on to something pretty good with a whole new concept of playing video games with the Wii-mote...really makes me consider how much gaming has advanced since the Nintendo 64.

Just when you thought single player gaming was as good as it gets...the Xbox introduces Xbox Live, where you can communicate and play with your friends online...now you might be thinking 'oh wait, the PS2 had that too' ...but let me tell you, i've tried both...and Xbox live really makes the PS2 bog standard online play look like dial up sitting next to 11mb ADSL! Xbox live has so many features with plenty of cool stuff to offer, chat with friends (message or voice), game dependent online features, too much stuff to mention. Let's start with a few games and their online features.

Call of Duty 3...you can build an army of friends online to compete against or with each other to beat the computer...or another army constructed by someone half way across the world...whilst playing you can chat with each other online using the headset provided with the xbox. That's just the tip of the ice berg.

Pro Evo...play in a league with or against each other, play in a quick match.....

...There really is too much to offer and it such a great gaming experience that you really have to try it out for yourself to get the gist of it.

Modern Cognition

Imagine a world....60 years ago with technology 60 years before it was created. Imagine a world war...with todays technology. would the war last longer or shorter? how much more or less damage would be caused? how would it affect the future? would there be a future? All of these questions are really supposed to be thought provoking and rhetorical of course...the answers are obvious in some ways. We have some a long way since then...the world has changed, our methods of communication has changed, our styles of music have changed, our views on political issues (in some cases) have changed, our views on moral standards, drugs, violence and video games have all changed. The world is forming conspiracies detracting from what is true...a theory formed by man is never as well structured as one formed by God. There could quite possibly be irony in that statement...because inevitably someone will always find something wrong in almost everything, but do we have the tolerance for it? Do we have the tolerance for ourselves? Do we have the tolerance to step back and look at the world a way a conservationist does? Let's all turn off our TV's, Computers, Radios and all other electronic devices and stop allowing the media to think for us...imagine the media didn't exist, would we all think for ourselves? would we all agree on much more? would we have more faith? would we be able to remember the true meaning of Christmas? would it seem strange that an atheist celebrates Christmas like the rest of us? but why? for the commercial values? to fit in? to be part of the majority?

The world has moved on...yet maybe we should take a step back.

So i'm back once again...i realised i haven't posted here in quite a long time, so i figured it'd be best if i do.

Christmas is approaching quickly, and it's the time of year where everything gets really hectic and people start rushing around the place like headless chickens out buying presents for family and friends or themselves. It's been a strange experience lately...my home town has gone from it's usual emptiness to this mass explosion of people everywhere, shopping, rushing, pushing you out of their way because they're on their way to a shop to get that one gift they're scared someone else will buy about 30 seconds before they get to it, and thus, if i got in their way, i may be the cause of someone being unhappy this Christmas. It's a strange thought...but i think we're all in a similar mind set.

The internet social networking site i mentioned last month (Bebo) ...the battle is still continuing to have this shut down or something, personally i feel that this kind of behaviour from a school principal is slightly out of line. It's like an invasion of privacy and human rights, we should all have our rights to have a page online, to say what ever we like without a SCHOOL principal telling us what to do, what to write, what to say, how to act, how to dress, what pictures to have online, what music to like, what relationships to have, what friends to have. It's maybe a bit extreme...but there is some megalomanical behaviour going on in this persons mind. Bebo is merely a social networking site...a place for friends to connect, talk, share music, pictures, comments, thoughts. The latter is what i think this certain person cannot stand...thought...modern thought is never something this person has been a fan of and i think that any modern thought he or she experiences, possibly even concerning themselves is too much to handle for them....the way the child views the principal is something he or she cannot handle.

Maybe i'm rambling a bit, but we'll see what comes of this whole 'battle to have bebo shut down' ...i think it's stupid and a delusion of their own power that makes them think they can control pupils outside of school.

It Leaked.........

So Light Grenades finally leaked today, the highlly anticipated album by my favourite band (Incubus). Here's my review;

Quicksand is a trippy build up in to a big bang with A Kiss To Send Us Off, with powerful guitar backing the lyrics, i think it's a pretty strong song! Next up on the album is Dig which almost sounds Morning View worthy, it really does sound good, i think it's the thicker guitar and slight delay which remind me of the verses of Wish You Were Here. Anna Molly seems pretty mediocre, Love Hurts, IMO really is amzing, i'm listening to an acoustic version of right it (it's a studio version, not from the Make Some Noise concert in april) ..it almost sounds like it's supposed to be acoustic, but with the more electric studio version, it gives the song more depth. Light Grenades.....it's just super crazy!! it's got a very punky feel to it, i like it a lot tbh. Earth to Bella was my most anticipated track off the album, and it's in 2 parts now....i've noticed that a guitar part from one of Mike's demo's he had on myspace has made it's way in to the song which marks the transition between part 1 and part 2 of the song, personally i'd love to see this performed live. Oil and Water didn't sound too promising from the 30 second clips we heard earlier in the month, but from hearing the beginning and it's build up i see how it fits in more and has much more than i expected. Lyrically i like Diamonds and Coal but haven't been able to get in to it just yet, i need some time though, only had 4 quick listens to the album. Rogues is amazingly cool...kinda like Light Grenades but not as fast.....yeah. Pendulous Threads is again a huge build up which leaves you expecting the album to end with a bang.....but then comes in Earth to Bella part 2 to cool things down, i think that's why it was probably split in to 2 parts, to make a huge build up so you expect the album to end with a big bang but then end with quite a soft song.

Overall i need to give it a few more listens and i'll have a more detailed review up here! I honestly can't say anything bad about the album, i love it more than ACLOTM...and it's in tough competition with Morning View but it's hard to compare and contrast with the previous albums (bar ACLOTM) since it's so different. I'll be back with a more detailed review later in the week.

What should I blog about??

Well as i sit here wondering 'what should i blog about?' (don't worry, this won't turn in to another post about not knowing what to post) ...my head hurts.

I was a productive child tonight! sort of...i decided straight after dinner i'd head straight to bed and sleep, but to no avail, i think i got about 15 minutes in 'the pit' until i was trailed out by the ear and made to help dad tile the utility room! I was tired, very tired, i've had too many late nights and i'm beginning to look like a complete bum these days to top it all off, my eyes were bloodshot and everything haha. Regardless, i think i did a good job of it, i kinda like tiling with dad (wouldn't make a living out of it like, but it'd be nice to have the skill up your sleeve). I like spending time with my dad, sometimes (yes, i know it's crazy) but i imagine myself like...10 years from now with kids that look up to me and think i'm a kick ass dad and stuff...haha how crazy is that like?? ...maybe it's crazy, i dunno, i just think of my future sometimes. Yeah...il shush.

Ummmm......tea, i like tea. i used to hate it, and never ever drink it but recently i discovered THAT's why for like...10 years of my life i've never had a proper sleeping pattern cause i've been too caffeine loaded, so i thought i'd cut down a bit as tea apparently contains less caffeine that coffee. ...i hear mum calling me for some, so i'm off for a cuppa!

Freedom of Speech anyone? ....infact...Freedom anyone?...do we really have any rights to freedom? i mean...c'mon, sure there are those who argue it, and say we are free. Do we have the right to say anything we want? and not be prosecuted for it by others...particularly those who feel they must monitor everything you do 24/7. Sometimes people become a little too obsessed with their own power and feel that they have the authority to remove these freedom of speech rights from you, and even the freedom to do w/e you want...at home...on your own time.

I'm talking about a certain school principle who urged us to delete our bebo pages today and have absolutely nothing to do with it...as it wil put us in a bad position apparently. She called the PSNI today over some malarky going on over bebo...i don't understand it all, it's silly, why does the school have to have something to do with it? Can things be that bad? can it be THAT bad that we're not allowed to the rights to use the internet as we please?

blah...in my personal opinion....i spot some megalomaniac tendancies. It's this kind of fist pressing against our society that forces us to not speak out.........i will use my freedom, and speak my opinion.

So i've had a lot of music ideas floating around in my head, and i think it may be from hearing the 30 second clips from Light Grenades (released on 28th of November!! can't wait!!) ...it's inspired me a lot...and if that's what *works out in head* ...6 and a half minutes of music does to me, this album will hopefully inspire me a lot and give me new ideas. I've been trying to get in to jazz music quite a bit too these days...And right at this moment i am listening to some Tommy Emmanuel (yes i know, that's not jazz) ...but i have quite a diverse range of music playing on iTunes these days, and it's quite cool instead of listening to purely one band all the time...even though i still enjoy doing that....ahhhh welll.
And now i actually don't really know what to talk about......and now i do...........The MacBook family has been updated, they now sport Intel Core 2 Duo Processors....Hopefully i'll be upgrading from my iBook to a MacBook soon if i can earn enough money somehow.

So much power...reminds me of Tim Allen in Home Improvement "More Power! OHHOHO" anyone remember that? ...ahh childhood memories.
